This week we were given a portrait assignment. In this assignment we had to take two different photos. The first photo was taken in a "studio" with a white screen and lights. For second photo you had to use natural light to bring equal light to the subject. We did this by using a white piece of cardstock to reflect the light equally on the subject's face. I learned a lot during this assignment especially about lighting. I have seen photographers use the reflection sheets but I didn't know why until we did this project. I also learned that you probably want your model to be in the center of the frame for portraits especially. I think the most important thing I learned is that when taking portraits it is important to capture the model's personality.
